Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account or internet connection?

No account, ever. The app works fully offline for all built-in cards and the playground. An internet connection is only needed if a parent chooses to generate a brand-new custom card (see below).

How do I add my own card?

The Add Card feature sits behind a parent gate so little hands can’t reach it. Once you pass the gate, type a word and the app creates a matching picture and spoken audio for it. You can also use your own photo (from your library or camera) and record your own voice.

What’s the parent gate?

A quick check (a simple task a toddler can’t complete) that guards anything not meant for children โ€” adding cards, recording audio, and settings. It keeps the main app 100% tap-safe for kids.

The app is asking for Photos, Camera, or Microphone โ€” why?

Only so a parent can add a custom card with their own picture or voice. Each permission is requested only when you tap that specific button, and the app works fine if you decline โ€” you just won’t use that one custom-card feature.

No sound when I tap a card

Creating a custom card failed

Custom-card generation needs an internet connection to create the picture and audio. Check your Wi-Fi or cellular data and try again. Built-in cards are unaffected and always work offline.

Meet Danny โ€” the Play tab

Tap the Play tab to explore ten little 3D worlds with Danny the chipmunk โ€” a cozy room, a playground, outer space, the woods, a farm, the beach and more. Tap to send Danny walking; when he reaches an object it pops above his head and names itself out loud, turning play into vocabulary.

Is my child’s data safe?

Yes. There are no ads, no trackers, no analytics, and no login. Everything your child does stays on the device. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

What age is it for?

Toddler Cards is rated 4+ and designed for toddlers and preschoolers, with a parent gate protecting everything that isn’t meant for kids.
